Current Universities on the FreeAirPumps.com Map

Free bike pumps on campus: 336 US universities and colleges with public bike repair stations, by state, with a link to each one on the map.

A flat or soft bike tire on campus doesn't have to ruin your day. Hundreds of universities and colleges have set up public bike repair stations: a stand with tools and a free pump, open to anyone who walks by. Our map shows 4,865 public bike repair stations across the US, 834 of them on 336 campuses. This page lists every one of those schools.

Yellow dots are stations on a campus, white dots are other public stations in parks, on trails and downtown. Search your city or campus, or tap any school in the lists below and the map jumps there.

What a campus bike repair station has

Most stations look alike: a post or stand with a hook to hang your bike, a set of tools on steel cables, and a floor pump bolted next to it. The tools usually cover what you need for a quick fix: screwdrivers, hex keys, wrenches and tire levers. The pump head usually fits both Presta and Schrader valves (see our guide to bike tire pressure and valves).

Some stations are just a pump, some only have tools. Where we know whether there is a working pump, the popup on the map says so. Of all stations on the map, 3,055 have a pump confirmed.

Can anyone use them?

Usually, yes. Most campus stations stand outdoors next to bike racks, libraries or student centers, and nobody checks for a student ID. A few sit inside parking garages or residence halls and are only reachable during building hours. Using them is free.

The pumps are made for bikes. They can't fill car tires in any reasonable time, so for your car use the free air map instead.

Is your campus missing?

If your school has a bike repair station that isn't listed, or a pump is broken, tell us. The list comes from OpenStreetMap, so you can also add the station there yourself and it will show up here after the next update.
