Air at GetGo
The air machine is usually at the corner of the lot, separate from the fuel islands. Some newer stores have digital machines where you set the target pressure first and the hose stops by itself. On older machines, check the reading on the hose gauge after every few seconds of filling.
Air is separate from fuelperks+, Giant Eagle's rewards program. You don't need a card or a purchase to use it.
How to use the air at GetGo
- Find your target pressure on the sticker inside the driver's door, not the maximum on the tire.
- Park so the hose reaches all four tires and unscrew the valve caps.
- On a digital machine, set the PSI first; on a plain hose, check the gauge often.
- Fill in short bursts until the reading matches, then put the caps back on.
Cold weather and your tires
Most GetGo locations on our map are in Ohio, where the average temperature drops from about 74 °F in July to 30 °F in January (NOAA). Tire pressure falls roughly 1 PSI for every 10 °F, so tires set correctly in summer are about 4 PSI low by midwinter. Check them monthly, and always when the low-pressure light comes on.
