Where to find the air at Lowe's
Look along the front of the building near the garden center gate, or at the pro or lumber entrance on the side. The hose is usually wall-mounted and has no coin slot. It is only available while the store is open.
The hose often has no gauge, so bring your own pressure gauge. Fill in short bursts and check after each one.
How to use the air at Lowe's
- Find your target pressure on the sticker inside the driver's door, not the maximum on the tire.
- Park so the hose reaches all four tires and unscrew the valve caps.
- On a digital machine, set the PSI first; on a plain hose, check the gauge often.
- Fill in short bursts until the reading matches, then put the caps back on.
Cold weather and your tires
Most Lowe's locations on our map are in Texas, where the average temperature drops from about 84 °F in July to 47 °F in January (NOAA). Tire pressure falls roughly 1 PSI for every 10 °F, so tires set correctly in summer are about 4 PSI low by midwinter. Check them monthly, and always when the low-pressure light comes on.
